Something about the fall seems to require a reevaluation of writing goals. Maybe it’s a kind of anticipatory panic knowing the end of the year looms and all of the stuff I’d planned to do back in January did not happen, or a least it did not happen in quite the way I expected it to. At last count, I have six writing projects on the go. There’s Tailor of Echoes, a completed novel that I am in the process of revising. Magpie’s Ladder, my collection of 5 illustrated stories will be published in 2019 (PS Publications). And then there is a collection of novellas, short stories, and a gestating novel or two. It’s been fun nudging many things along. All of this feels like preparation for a solidly productive 2019. At least that’s the plan.
